10,000 endangered turtle eggs seized in Malaysia
malaysian marine policemen say they bear seized 10,000 endangered turtle eggs believed to be from the philippines.
muhammad sallam spawi, an officer of the law in sabah state on borneo island, says police surprised four smugglers as they were unloading bags of eggs sunday. but he says the men managed to flee in their vessel.
still, he said tuesday the seizure was “the biggest ever” in sabah.
he said the men were speaking tagalog, which is spoken in the philippines.

Is Planet of the Apes getting the remake treatment, again?
Hands up if you saw Tim Burton’s 2001 version of sci-fi classic action movies Planet of the Apes, which starred a pre-Talking to Animals Mark Wahlberg, Paul Giamatti, Helena Bonham Carter and many other unfortunate souls. Keep your hands up if you liked that movie? Those of you with your hands up are liars. It is a terrible, terrible movie; one of the worst films on Burton’s resume.
That’s not keeping Fox Studios from trying to resuscitate the franchise. The good folks over at CHUD have an interesting story about a remake/prequel/reboot that may eventually see the light of day:
it’s not a sequel to the burton film, and it’s not another remake of the card. to the general audience it’s a prequel to planet of the apes, but for the initiated it’s something totally different.
It’s a remake of Conquest of the Planet of the Apes.
Conquest is a 1972 download drama film — the fourth in the Apes series — which tells the story of Caesar, the ape that helps monkey-kind overthrow mankind. This film would be a reimagining of that film, except set in modern times. No word on a director, casting, or anything else. For now it remains purely a rumour.

Pants-Gate: Mike Singletary WILL Find Out Who Snitched [Duan!]
An investigation is underway in San Fransisco, and no man, woman, or child is safe from its reaches. No sir; not for as long as Mike Singletary is around. The Niners’ new coach is determined to find out who told the press about his rather hilarious motivational tactics, which have brought shame and ridicule to himself and his family.
Sayeth the Niner boss, who is on the hunt:
“It’s unfortunate,” he said. “We will find out who is leaking information out of the locker room because what happens in the locker room should be sacred and stay there.”
The fact that his pants-dropping was revealed might indicate that an assistant coach or player isn’t entirely behind Singletary. Or it might have been mentioned to someone on the outside in a lighthearted way, possibly to indicate how eager the coach was to get his point across. Maybe the source didn’t realize how embarrassing it would be to Singletary and the franchise.
Singletary, of course, was one of the hardest-hitting players to ever step on a football field, and could clearly still lay someone out. This will not end well for the poor soul inside that Niner locker room who let this out (feel free to take bets in the comments as to who the snitch is.)
And so, a good night to one and all. Here’s to hoping that none of you end up being the person that Coach Singletary inevitably kills while they sleep.

watching this administration and congress tough to deal with the financial crisis is like watching a fireman disquieting to put out a fire with gasoline. he keeps spreading it around and destroying the whole shooting match in sight and wondering why the flames keep spreading! what’s interesting to me is the fact that none of this is new, we’ve all played this game in advance of. if you peel fascism of it’s hatred and racism, one of the core beliefs of fascism was a philosophy called “corporatism”. it was a system where profits could be private, but losses were public. it was a system employed by the nazi’s to have a sort of “guiding hand” of the direction in all aspects of major corporations and to a lesser extent it was employed by fdr in the “new deal”. what most people don’t realize is that while other countries had a depression in the course of a few years, fdr’s “new deal” helped destroy the u.s. economy to the point to where it became not only just a depression, but a extraordinary sadness. the only thing that saved fdr (and our economy) was wwii.
let’s get to the peak, over 99.99% of all companies in the u.s. take in bromide way or another barely ceased to exist. it happened with enron, mci, numerous railroads, auto companies, computer companies, banks, candlestick makers, blubber producers, whalers, semiconductor manufacturers and myriad, many, divers other institutions. it didn’t cause the “ruin” of the u.s. economy, sure there were some affected and millions sire misspent their jobs, but for the most part they found jobs in either their own start-ups, others start-ups or other companies.this concept that somehow if all these banks failed, or if we don’t insure deposits over 100k, somehow it would plunge us into another melancholy or reverse the conservatism is absolute bs. candidates talk about “fairness” all the time, how is it fair to take money out of my pocket, and give it to some tubby cat on wall row? or to someone who foolishly left more than 100k in a single bank, knowing deep well he was only insured for 100k? this whole mess happened because of washingtonpolitics and their accomplices on wall street and so infrequently midway america has to pay the fee? what happened to adverse responsibility? i guess just with capitalism, that’s simply dmod of fashion. it’s no longer fresh to be a “cowboy”,these days it equates to being arrogant. we here at “nosocialism” know the answers and it’s for people to take responsibility concerning their own actions, for their own lives and stop asking rule to do more and more and more for us. here’s how i would manipulate this mess.the personal fault act.
